The Kissing Sun
Have we ever tried gazing up at the sky for
some time? The very beautiful sky which is there in our phone's gallery and
also in our 'streaks' (puts-snapchats-90s-aesthetic-effect)
This beautiful enormous piece of creation
by the Universe cannot be adored in a 6-inch Optic-Amoled display. You know
they say 'sky is the limit'. Here, the 'cell phone has the limit'. No matter
how beautifully 'sun kissed-photo' we take in our cell phones the joy in
sitting in our balcony watching the orangish-red-fusion-of-the-sky for some
time is incomparable (plays-dusk-till-dawn-by-Zayn) Here comes the stunning
part - when we gaze at the sky or any other 'everlasting thing' we are in a
state of thoughtlessness. (try-it-out) As the Master says himself, 'aakash ki
taraf dekho aur fir vichaar karo, tum dekhoge vichaar hi nahi aarhe'. Now
(experiential-learning-is-the-process-of-learning-from-experiences) we should
definitely try this! Let's understand the reason of this 'thoughtless' state by
using 'sky is the limit' metaphor. If we understand this metaphor it says, sky
has no limits. It is ever eternal. So if we look at the everlasting things our
attention power (chitta) has it immense effects. It would make us thoughtless
(and-as-we-know-sky-doesn't-think-of-sending-streaks-so)
Meditation
can also give us that joyfulness
too of sitting in the balcony while watching at the beautiful sunsets. It gives
us that 'thought-less' state where we are absolutely absorbed in the present
moment. A state where sun-kisses us with utmost serenity and joy. So, let's get
wrapped around the sun's air kisses! (wind-blushes)
In one open eyed meditation while gazing at the gentle rays of the rising sun I had witnessed a rishi meditating upside down, and as I was watching that sight in awe, a sadhika sitting some distance away behind me spoke to herself in astonishment and said in Hindi, 'that rishi is meditating upside down!'
