The Shushing Feet

Image
Have you wondered what's the most frightened thing we are scared of? Fear of heights, fear of being alone, fear of death and many other fears (fear-of-lizards-whoa-an-agitated-loud-scream) and the list goes on and on.   According to Google, fear is 'the feeling that you have when something dangerous, painful or frightening might happen.' Amongst of these above-mentioned-fears there's another fearful-heart-beat-accelerating-and-sweaty-hands kind of anxiety of fear which we most of us have. This dear and unnerving fear is 'public speaking.' Boo! It is said that the fear of public speaking is more than the fear of death! (whoa-I-know-right) There can be varied reasons amongst different people for this fear. For example, one might think what others would think of himself or herself (others-approval-and-validation-barrier) Would I be able to speak in front of hundreds of people? (self-doubting-barrier) And many other barrier lists which goes on and ...

Showers of Blessings

Image
Every person has a go-to-place somewhere. A place where one feels joyous, fun and immensely good.   This go-to-place or say favorite place differs among each individual. A literal thanks to pandemic we cannot go out to our 'go-to-place'. Though haven't we discovered our go-to-place in our home? It's right in front of our TV's (Netflix-'ta-dum'-intro-plays) isn't it? But  hey! Have we ever sat down in the shower? Yes, for real. If not, then we are missing a wondrous experience in our lives. A 'underrated experience' which Netflix’s no movie or series could display us. (just-saying-try-it-out) You know there's this beautiful quote which says, 'if you'll never try, you'll never know.' And here comes the water-mind-blowing-part (pun-intended) ; when we are having shower or bath we feel joyous and serene because we are dearest and closest to our soul during that shower time. As Master says, 'one comes close in ...

The Puppet Show

Image
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the puppetry club! A club where we puppets are being beautifully manipulated by our puppeteer. (our-expectations)   Aren't we dependent upon 'others' to make 'us' feel happy or misery? Here comes a very relatable example - we post a 'aesthetic-cool-picture-of-ours' on Instagram and then we 'expect' from 'someone special' to like our picture. If that 'someone special' likes our picture then we feel good, if not then self-doubt bombs as misery (is-this-picture-good-enough?) Not only just Instagram posts but in life too. We expect somewhere in our minds from people to behave in a certain way. If they behave according to our expectations then we feel good (Alexa-play-dance-hits-on-Spotify) and if not then we are sadden (Alexa-play-sad-songs) So, if the expectations or say puppeteer gets what it wants then we puppets dance or stance accordingly. Why to play this game? Truth- bombs-...

The Tenses Amnesia

Image
We all must have learnt 'tenses' is our school times. Past, Present and Future tenses. But here's the sad part; Did we understood the meanings of it?   No! Am I right or am I right? Tenses are the form of verbs (actions) which took place in past, present or future. Though we all have learnt these tenses in our school times we unfortunately have forgotten the literal meanings of it. And, it's okay to forget. (here-song-plays-young-dumb-and-broke-by-Khalid) So here's a quick revision of tenses; 'Past tense' means actions or activities which is 'done' in the past. For example - We smiled. Here the action is 'already' done. 'Present tense' means actions or activities which is right 'now' going on. For example - We are smiling. (smile-please) Here the action is currently going on :) And finally, 'Future tense' means actions which we 'will' do in future. For example - We will smile. Now, here's ...

Fascinating Failures

Image
There's this beautiful quote which I came across some time back, 'ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.' by Samuel Beckett.   We all must have heard this, 'Failures are the best teachers.' Here, Samuel Beckett's quote embraces failures and to learn from failures everytime. Each failure teaches us some good lessons (yes-failures-hurts-but-less-than-a-wooden-ruler-hitting-hands) So yes, failures are beautiful. But here's the thing have we ever questioned, 'why' did I failed? There must be obviously some reasons because of which we fail. Though we cannot blame situations and other people for our failures because the root of the problem exists within us. As His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji says, "agar aapko 'kuch' problem hai toh fir aap 'mein' kuch problem hai." We are solely and only responsible for our failures. (so-no-blame-game-here) Swamiji also says, 'insaan...

The Intimacy of Life

Image
'Oh no! Why did it happen to me' or 'Why people always do this to me' does it sounds familiar? Don't we share very intimate relationship with these sentences?   Often sometimes when something 'bad' happens to us, our romantic partner creeps in our mind in the form of 'Why me' sentences. This romantic partner (in-the-form-of-thoughts) seems very egotistic, fault-finder, dissatisfied with life type of person. Here's the example- when life throws apples to us, our partner takes it with zero complaints. (pleasing-situations-according-to-us) That time our partner doesn't be like, 'Why me?' But when life starts throwing lemons at us (not-pleasing-situations) our romantic partner being classic himself or herself starts, 'Oh no! Why me.' During this point of time teens like to call it ' life sucks ' Whether be it so lemons flipping and flinging in our ways. We should accept it happily. No matter what situa...

The Ultimate Reality

Image
Have you ever wondered what makes this universe run, the very tiny seed sprouting into a huge tree, the immensely huge mother earth rotating in its axis?   Is there a God who's looking after this universe? Maybe, but umm wait! God is someone who has a form, look and shape. And if there's a form, look and shape that means there is a body! And along with body there comes certain limitations (like-body-is-mortal) So, don't you think it is impracticable for a body to run this massive universe? There must be something else which runs this universe. You know this universe always unceasingly helps us every time if we have an intense amount of desire of something. (here-desire-to-know-the-reality) So, here comes the remarkable eye-opening part; there's an energy called Paramatma or say Universal Consciousness. An eternal and ceaseless energy flowing in this universe. This everlasting energy is everywhere, literally everywhere (one-can-say-its-the-only-thing-wh...

Cradle of Love

Image
We all must have heard this beautiful quote somewhere, ' live in the moment.' And here's the practical part; are we actually living in the moment?   Firstly, 'live in the moment' what does it mean? Living in the moment means a state where you're completely absorbed in the present moment. A state where we are not accompanying our thoughts with us, a 'thoughtlessness' state.  'Thoughtlessness' the word itself says, 'thought-less.' No past or future thoughts rendering in our minds. And It is extremely important to stay in this 'thought-less' state because whenever we think there's energy which is expensed in return for thinking. We all have heard that if one is having negative thoughts, he or she should replace them by thinking positively. But here's an eye-opening part; if you are positively 'thinking', there is still 'thinking action' which takes place. And where thinking action 'comes...

The Clock Is Ticking!

Image
Have you ever felt like when you're having fun, the time seems to be unfair with you somewhere? Whoosh... time flies. It literally flies away!   The same time when we feel like doing something productive like, 'studying' or say when you're bored or having a rough day? Does time flies or dies? Of course it flies but not according to our expectations. So yes, it dies. There we we want to kill time! (by-doing-'timepass') But how strange it is that one day we feel time is favorable and fair to us and another day it's boring and unfair. Here's the fun fact; In both the days’ time seems to fair in its own regime; a day consist of 24 hours (another-unwanted fact) And in both the days the clock ticks the same, same 24 hours with same unbiased ticking-speed. As His Holiness Shree Shivkrupanand Swamiji  says,"bura samay, acha samay aisa kuch nahi hota, samay toh bas samay hai, samay ka kaam hai sirf aage badhna." Now, the term fair and...

Simon Says..

Image
We all must have played this game once in our lifetime. Simon says game is amongst one of the most well-liked games. In this game there are few players amongst one of them plays the role of Simon. And the other players need to follow the instructions of Simon. For example - Simon says Clap your hands then every player needs to clap their hands. Just like this, 'our best friend' mind is like Simon. And we are the other players following the Simon's instructions. Now, there is a very well-known quote which says, "your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy." Mind can be a best friend for someone or the worst enemy depending upon how it is trained. If it is our best friend then congrats, you've got an amazing friend. But if it is not then, you've got to train it. (and-this-time-friendship-bands-wont-work) Our mind is such a beautiful piece of creation by the creator. When we were born, this beautiful mind was already trained or say c...

The Underrated Happiness

Image
Isn't everything we do in our lives is to get happiness? Happiness that can stay with us every moment. We are literally chasing for happiness every day or say every moment of our lives.   Here, I mean about that everlasting, endless and eternal happiness . Happiness which is permanent and not temporary. For example, just imagine you ate a delicious-mouth-watering-toothsome-cookie (just imagine) and then after eating that delicious cookie, you felt like you're at the top of the world. Now, unfortunately this feeling resisted only for few minutes or maybe few seconds. (depending-upon-your-biting-and-chewing-skills) After few hours, you're back with your my-life-sucks-mode. Why is that so? Exactly, you just experienced a temporary happiness which lasted for some time. Well, you may ask what is permanent happiness and how to experience it? Here we go, Permanent happiness (or-say-underrated-happiness) is the happiness which comes from selflessness. It is an in...

Teens And Their Misbeliefs

Image
Teens, Teenagers or Sweet Sixteen. We are beautifully categorized each year with an adjective right before our age with every declining adolescent’s period. Also, every year right after the 12am, 'happy birthday' messages.     Though with every year passing by, we (young-dumb-broke-high-school-kids: p) often have some misconceptions about life. A certain pre-conceived assumption or say misbelief of something. And, it is okay to have these misbeliefs, preconceived thoughts and assumptions. We are inclining towards adulthood journey where we are learning, discovering and exploring different-different life events and our ourselves every day.  So yes, it's completely alright to have misbeliefs. Also, it is very important to correct those misbeliefs which were preconditioned in our minds. Amongst various misbeliefs, there are few misbeliefs named, "meditation is for older people, not-so-cool-boring people, and it's only for yogis and not us." Ther...
